ACCSC101, along with the accompanying course ACCSC102, lays out the standards in line with the way schools are typically structured to better help you comprehend the important relationship between each standard and each aspect of running a compliant, accredited school. The law applies to students in higher education and educational institutions that receive funding under a program administered by the U.S. Department of Education. This course is designed to provide participants with a working knowledge of FERPA guidelines to ensure proper handling of educational records and other institutional requirements.
This course is designed for admissions representatives at institutions licensed by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). Topics focus on the CALIFORNIA PRIVATE POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION ACT OF 2009 (California Education Code, Title 3, Division 10, Part 59, Chapter 8) and its impact on school operations in California. The course provides a review of the state regulations related to admissions interactions with prospective students. Additionally, the course provides guidance on how to become more familiar with your institution’s programs, policies and procedures, as well as, organizational tips on staying up-to-date and compliant. Completion of this tutorial is a required part of an institution's initial or renewal of accreditation process. At least one key member from an institution must complete this tutorial prior to preparing the institution's Self-Evaluation Report. Completing this tutorial qualifies a person to be an "Accreditation Compliance Officer" — a term used to describe a person knowledgeable in the DEAC's accreditation process and its standards, policies and procedures.
This tutorial is a required part of an evaluator’s participation in the DEAC Accreditation Evaluation process. Completing this tutorial qualifies a person to serve as an accreditation evaluator for the purposes of serving on DEAC site visit teams, as well as serving as an off-site subject specialist evaluator. It is also provided for trained evaluators who need to be brought up to speed on the Accrediting Commission's policies, procedures, and standards.
